Terms of Use

These Terms of Use are Parola's own end-user license agreement, replacing Apple's standard EULA. By downloading or using Parola, you agree to them.

Who provides Parola

Parola is made by Witold Bobrowski, sole developer, Zielona 2/7, 80-746 Gdańsk, Poland. Contact hello@heyparola.com for questions, complaints, or claims about the app.

Acknowledgement

This agreement is between you and Witold Bobrowski only, not Apple, and Apple has no responsibility for the app or its content. Witold Bobrowski, not Apple, is solely responsible for Parola and everything in it.

The app and your content

Your words and collections stay on your device. You own them. Parola holds no account data on any server. See the Privacy Policy for details.

License

You get a non-transferable license to use Parola on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's Usage Rules — including via Family Sharing where offered.

Maintenance and support

Witold Bobrowski is responsible for maintenance and support of Parola. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app. See Support for how to reach us.

Warranty

To the extent not disclaimed by law, if Parola fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to any warranty are Witold Bobrowski's responsibility alone.

Product claims

Witold Bobrowski, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to Parola, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.

Intellectual property

If a third party claims that Parola infringes their intellectual property rights, Witold Bobrowski, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any such claim.

Legal compliance

By using Parola, you represent that you're not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated by the US government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not listed on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Third-party terms

When using Parola, you must comply with applicable third-party agreements — for example, your wireless data service agreement, if data charges apply.

Parola Ultra

Parola Ultra is an optional paid membership offered as an auto-renewable monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscription periods and prices are shown in the app before you buy, and billed to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple Account settings (iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions).

Some plans include a free trial (currently the yearly plan); its length is shown before you start it. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription.

Lifetime is a one-time payment that unlocks Ultra for as long as Parola is offered. Family Sharing is supported where enabled by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies (reportaproblem.apple.com); this doesn't affect the statutory rights of EU consumers. Prices may change; changes to subscription prices follow Apple's rules and notice requirements.

Right of withdrawal

If you're an EU consumer, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content or services. By starting to use Parola Ultra straight after buying it, you agree that it begins immediately and acknowledge that you lose that right for the content already supplied. Withdrawals and refunds go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Founding Edition

For a limited launch window (dates shown in the app), anyone who buys Ultra becomes a Founder. Founders get every Ultra feature we add later at no extra cost. A Founder subscription keeps its joining price for as long as it renews without interruption; if it lapses and you resubscribe later, current prices apply. Founder app icons are limited-edition and stay available to Founders even after the window closes.

When Ultra ends

Nothing is deleted or locked when a subscription lapses or lifetime access isn't active. Ultra-only looks revert to the defaults, iCloud backup pauses (what's already in your iCloud stays there), and new Ultra downloads stop. Collections beyond the free three stay fully usable — only creating new ones beyond that limit is blocked. Downloaded packs keep working.

Dictionary content

Dictionary entries come from third-party open data, such as Wiktionary via Wikimedia, under their own licenses (for example CC BY-SA). This content is provided as-is, with no guarantee of accuracy or completeness. Don't rely on it for anything critical.

Acceptable use

Don't reverse-engineer Parola beyond what applicable law allows, and don't abuse data.heyparola.com — including scraping or automated bulk access.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Parola is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, and Witold Bobrowski isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't be limited under applicable law, including mandatory protections available to EU consumers.

Complaints

If something in Parola doesn't work as it should, write to hello@heyparola.com describing the problem and, if you can, the device and app version. We'll reply within 14 days. Complaints about billing or refunds are handled by Apple.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change from time to time; we'll update this page and the date above. Continuing to use Parola after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Termination

You can stop using Parola and delete the app at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Poland. If you're an EU consumer, you also keep the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings in its courts.

Apple as third-party beneficiary

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and Apple has the right to enforce them against you.
